Two family businesses, one notebook, and no way to know which jobs made money, until we gave them one ledger
A family runs a wiring subcontracting business and a chili farm, and kept the books for both in a notebook and a spreadsheet. We built them a private ledger where every wiring job shows its own profit, every chili sale shows who still owes money, and the year-end report for the accountant is one click.

The Problem
The wiring business and the chili farm ran on a notebook and a spreadsheet that didn't always agree.
On the wiring side, nobody could tell if a job made money until long after it was done, because worker pay and material costs were written down separately from the job's income. On the farm, chili went out to stalls and shops on credit, and keeping track of who had paid meant flipping through pages. Receipts were kept in a drawer. Every year-end meant days of sorting before anything could go to the accountant.
What We Built
A private ledger for the whole family, opened with a 4-digit PIN.
Each person has their own profile, and one can be limited to the chili side only. For the wiring business, each project is one record: the income goes in first, then which workers were paid and what materials or transport cost, and the job's profit shows straight away. Workers are saved once with their IC and bank details, so every payment can be traced to a person. For the farm, each sale records the customer, kg and price per grade, and whether it's paid. The app shows who still owes money and how much, and tracks the price per kg by grade month by month. Every receipt can be photographed and attached on the spot. At year-end, one report covers both businesses with every receipt attached, ready for the accountant as a PDF or spreadsheet.

The Result
The family can now see which wiring jobs made money the day the work is done, not months later.
They know exactly who still owes them for chili. Receipts are attached to the entry they belong to, and the year-end handover to the accountant is now a download instead of days of sorting.
“We used to write everything in a book and still not know if a job made money. Now every job shows its profit, we know who hasn't paid for the chili, and at year-end we just download the report for the accountant.”
